Oscar lives up to the springer in English Springer Spaniel. He's been known to bounce up in the garden to see what his family was doing inside the house. Imagine looking out the kitchen window to see a pair of silky black ears flapping above those eager, brown eyes.

A great family dog, Oscar jumps into action when his girls want a furry friend. In fact, Oscar even jumped through a screen door once wanting to get inside to be with his people.

Barkley - the Humorous Hide-&-Seek Hound

Why does Barkley look so familiar? Weimaraners with their lean build and expressive features have been a popular model for artists like William Wegman and many others. While Barkley will readily smile for the camera, what he really loves is chasing his ball and hanging out with his people.

At just 2 years old, Barkley is still learning how to balance his desire to protect his family and his fear of flies. You wouldn't expect a 73 pound dog to be afraid of something smaller than your fingernail, but Barkley got spooked by an aggressive fly in the kitchen one day. His natural instinct took him racing full speed for the safety of the bedroom.

Freeze Framed Ekkie

Ruby Sue - the Freeze Framed Ekkie 

"Bright feathers, bright mind."

Danger looms on the horizon, but it can't see Ruby Sue because she's standing perfectly still. As an Eclectus Parrot Ruby Sue has a calm, easy-going personality, but when something scares her she goes for option number 3 skipping over the fight or flight responses and choosing to freeze.

No worries though, Ruby Sue does great no matter where she goes in her job to further feathered education about avian care and culture. She and Zavo, a male Eclectus (below in the bright green with the candy corn beak), were breed by her current family, they were raised in other homes by loving bird families, but they both returned to their original family and are happy to be together again.

While "Z Man" Zavo enjoys spending his time talking to furniture (cupboards and bed frames fascinate him), Ruby Sue prefers building nests out of boxes or scouting for cozy locations by running underneath the couch.

Leading Lady Lapdog Frenchie

Tinka - the Leading Lady Lapdog Frenchie 

"My agent says I am 'Oh La La Lovable.'"

Tinka's adoption began with a search for a compact, companion dog during a difficult battle with cancer. Her family had always favored St. Bernards (who may think of themselves as lapdogs, but are really please-stop-smothering-me-with-love dogs). Tinka's cuddly 20 pounds and clownish behavior made her the perfect fit, and her bully determination (she is a French Bulldog after all) helped defeat the disease.

Not satisfied to be just any old sidekick, Tinka set off on her own career. You may have seen Tinka on a recent department store TV ad or in a magazine. She often models the latest fashion trends and accessories such as a pink polished, "pawdicured" nails or a temporary glitter tattoo next to her tiny bulldog tail.

As any celebrity will tell you a good stylist is a must. Luckily, Tinka works very closely with one at the family's dog grooming shop where she also volunteers as a greeter.
