| Sugar - the Vibrant Velcro Umbrella |
Suzanne Sugar-Beaker's namesake from the 1986 TV show "Designing Women" always made an entrance, and she certainly wore some flashy outfits. This Umbrella Cockatoo everyone calls Sugar can also put on an impressive display when she raises her crest of striking white head feathers.
Sugar shares her home with 5 other parrots, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. Often called "velcro birds," cockatoos form intense personal bonds, and Sugar shows her affections with frequent cuddles.
She enjoys traveling with her human companion, Karen, to pet events and educational classes around the Twin Cities. Occasionally she lends a helping beak at the avian boarding house her mom owns. Sugar's specialty is cleaning feathers with a relaxing neck massage.
